Davis - Guitar, Vocals and Percussion
Ben Davis brings a versatility and a penchant for selling a tune that the band can not do without. Trained as a percussionist, Ben adds flavorful highlights on many recreations of '60s songs. He holds down rhythm guitar parts on both electric and acoustic guitar as well.
But his true calling is the role of lead singer. Ben soulfully sings his way through a great deal of the band's repertoire. He is a groovy Motown funkster, laying down a percussion pocket at the same time. He is a gravelly rock and roll power singer, gyrating and commanding attention. He is a cool balladeer with velvet undertones. Best of all, he pulls the audience into the song like no other singer on the Central Coast.
Ben began playing for high school and college dances in the mid-sixties. His band, "The Thanes", played at Hollywood's Pandora's Box when The Doors were at the Whiskey-a-Go-Go. Central Coast bands have
included "Oasis", "Flight 19", "Lookin' Back", and "BackBeat".
Ben resides in Arroyo Grande. During the day he also does the most important work that one can do - teaching our children. He is a Social Studies teacher at Nipomo High School. |
