Terry
Lawless No Longer With UB;
On Tour with The Boss
Yes, it was great while it lasted, but Terry
Lawless is no longer performing with Unfinished Business.
He was in a retirement frame of mind when he joined Unfinished Business in
January 2006, but, as requests for his services continued to pour in, Terry
finally realized retirement isn't realistic at this time. For example, Terry
recently completed his contribution to the production of a new CD by his old friends Bono, The Edge, and the rest of the Irish
supergroup, U2. The CD should be released sometime this fall and a
tour will follow. However, in the mean time, Terry leaves this week to join
the Bruce Springsteen tour.
Who
knows what we might hear about what Terry is doing next? You can follow
Terry and peruse his eye-popping resume on his website.
It was alot of fun for the band to play with
Terry and there are hopes that he will be back again someday on a regular
basis the next time that retirement frame of mind strikes him. The members of Unfinished Business greatly appreciate the musicianship and
"star quality" Terry brought to the band. Terry also did a tremendous
job with the design and maintenance of our website and with the production of
our video and audio demos. A very talented guy who will be missed and to whom we
are indebted. Terry remains a friend and
we wish him only the best in his future endeavors.

Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame - A UB Close Encounter With A Music Industry Icon
Unfinished Business congratulates The Ventures (Bob
Bogle, Nokie Edwards, Gerry McGee, Mel Taylor, Don Wilson) on their recent selection to enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Unfinished Business was the support act for the legendary surf instrumental group at The Clark Center in October, 2006 - a true brush with greatness for the local '60s rock and roll band. Check out the collection of photos from that inspiring evening. The Ventures
were inducted along with Madonna, John
Mellencamp, Leonard Cohen, and The Dave Clark Five in New York on March 10, 2008, at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in NY City. The Museum is located in Cleveland, Ohio.
Their induction was long overdue for the largest selling instrumental group of all time.

Unfinished Business Flattered in a Recent News Article
The Foxen News, which is distributed among the neighbors of Foxenwood Estates, is featuring Unfinished Business on the front page of the Jan - Feb, 2008 edition. The flattering article, penned by the publication's editor, James Pepper, was the result of Mr. Pepper seeing the band at the January 25 performance at the Loading Dock in Old
Orcutt. This rare Santa Barbara County club appearance for the '60s tribute band was a
fulfilled evening for everyone in attendance and, evidently, inspiring enough to get the editor to write his unsolicited review.
As the band's fan base takes them out of the area more and more, Unfinished Business has always
maintained that it is their recognition in the community and the support of the fans on the Central Coast that make it all worthwhile. Thank you, James, for helping us always remember that fact.

ACCOLADES POUR IN! Our fans LOVED the New Years Eve Party
Dozens of unsolicited kudos have been arriving via email concerning the first annual Unfinished Business New Years Eve Bash. It seems that everyone loves to dance and party in a safe, incident free venue, but there aren't many places that can provide that comfort. Check out what our fans had to say.
We couldn't be prouder!

San Luis Obispo Calendar
The city of San Luis Obispo and the SLO Downtown Business
Association honor Unfinished Business by including a photo of the band in their newly published 2008 Events Calendar. The picture, taken live during a main stage performance at the SLO Farmer's Market, graces the "April" page, reminding all of us that the music of Unfinished Business is a big part of this Central Coast community, a city renowned for its dedication to all the arts.
Thanks, San Luis, for including us. We don't just perform here. We live here too, and we never forget it.

SLO Tribune honors Unfinished Business with a great article
The San Luis Obispo Tribune flatters Unfinished Business with a recent
newspaper article (SLO Tribune, December 27, 2007) about the band and the upcoming New Years Eve gala. The Pulitzer worthy article was penned by Tribune Journalist, Patrick Pemberton. Check out the accompanying video on the Trib's website. Our mark of success is to be recognized in our own community. We are both honored and humbled. Thanks to the Tribune and Patrick.

Update: Ed sent a letter to editor of the Tribune thanking Patrick Pemberton for his article on Unfinished Business and to also make a clarification about Ed's role in two investigations mentioned in the article. The letter was published on January 6, 2008.

"Tips For April"
Thanks to everyone who attended the Unfinished Business concert on the Main Stage at the San Luis Obispo Farmers Market on Thursday, August 9th. And a special thanks to those who tipped the band because all tips, which totaled $773.89, were donated to April, a Central Coast woman who has inoperable cancer and is not expected to live more than another month or two. April is a single mother with a 14 year old daughter and they have no insurance. We are sure the money will go to very good use to help sustain April and her daughter during this very difficult time. Thanks again for your generosity and please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
posted 8/10/07
Note (Dec 18, 2007): April lost her courageous fight against cancer this morning. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, especially her daughter, Destiny. We will miss you, April.
